VACATION!!!

OMG! Did I need this break or what! Last night Chris and I flew into Durham and today we did nothing but lounge around the pool-eat great food and homemade icecream and just take in the silence and sereneness of the quite space we have to roam around in here at his folks house.SOOOOOOOOO relaxing. We don't return to the windy city till August 1st and I could not be happier. My mom is comming on Monday and we go to Wilmington on Friday, so nothing to do inbetween but RELAX! If you need me I'll be floating in the pool.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Cubbies

So Friday (yesturday) Chris and I saw a Chicago Cubs game with the crew from Chicago Scenic. Every year the boss foots the bill for the whole shop and some lucky guests to see a game and drink some beer. Our seats were great- in the shade and all. Plus- the Cubs SPANKED the Pittsburg Pirates. 11 to 1.
It was so nice and cool- only 85 degrees- and plenty of wind. Good times were had by all.

Boy this shot made me homesick. My friend Christy from back home (who FYI has a killer blog you should visit for a smile- from time to time-@ blythepiphany.blogspot.com) took this shot at the Ampetheatre in Wilmywood. I did three shows out there during my 5 years. Pericles was the first. We did it on the lawn because these great seats in the photo here were just getting ready to be put in. I met Chris doing that show. I had a Boy Friend at the time, but i totally remember crushin' on him a bit. I had to pin his cape on every night in the second act, and he was a very cheeky flirt. : ) The following summer I did Taming of the Shrew there. Where I was eaten alive by bugs all month long to spite all the sprays, candles and smoke sticks I used. Two years later I worked on Much Ado about Nothing. I ran the pre-show festivities. Last year Chris and I went and endured the bugs to sit in those front rows on the right of this picture to see 12th Night. (Im not sure how to spell twelfth?) This is an incredible shot she got here of the show Two Gentlemen of Verona. We have outdoor theatre here- but it isn't the same. Thank you Christy for the shot, it made me homesick..in the best way!

UPDATE-

Sky Lounge

so..ok...day almost over and I survived. Gymboree didn't implode in my unexpected absence..and thats good. Chris pointed out that my entire paradicament was spawned by the fact that I locked MY KEYS in Gymboree Tuesday night. Thus begetting the situation today of needing Chris' keys to lock the apt. But he left his phone..thats on him. : ) ANd then I found this pic he took from the top of the Hancock BLD looking out over the city at dusk. It made me happy.

Here's to a better tomorrow.

You know it's going to be a bad day when.....

HOW COULD YOU!!

you wake up and your boyfriend has completely forgotten to leave you his house key as you had discussed the night before so you can lock the door before going to work. Then you call him on his cell only to be sickened by the sound of his phone ringing on the desk in the apartment. Now- you can not leave lots of uninsured electronics in an open apartment, you can not reach him on his cell to work something out- and your only relative that could come and babysit the place has to be at work at noon. Now add to the fact that today is a LONG day for me, and by not going to work I am loosing about $100 after taxes....thats just the cake..the icing is that I had to wake the owners of Gymboree up at 7:30 am to tell them everyone I called to cover for me was either out of town, or working. I took this picture- right after I got off the phone with my boss, who I should mention was LESS than pleased. Chris will arrive home at like 4:30 and my day will be gone...I still have no way to get my keys for tomorrow. That's a plan I will have to work out later..when the vein in my forhead stops throbbing.

Milenium Parkin'

This shot was taken this weekend at Milenium Park in Downtown Chicago. Chris and I walked a hundred miles down there through the world famous "Taste of Chicago" where you get to try food from hundreds of great resturaunts. The end of the "Taste" grounds puts you out at Milenium Park and we were able to get this shot of the skyline in "The Bean". If you double click on the picture it will enlarge it and you can move your mouse on the shot to find my hidden note revealing where chris and I are in the picture. It was one of the coolest days in Chicago, and we stuffed ourselves on really great food. Tonight it's War Of The Worlds and Fireworks on Navy Pier. Tomorrow I am marching in not 1 but 2 parades with Redmoon. Happy Fourth Everyone!!
