Life in the Big City on the eve of 2005
On December 24th I celebrated my two month anniversary of living in the Windy City of Chicago. Moving here from Warm Wonderful Wilmington North Carolina has been a culture shock I have been ready for my entire life. I am a Big City Girl who got side tracked by school in West Virginia and then by career expirience in Wilmington. I am finally where I belong (for now) in Chicago. As a full fleged Theatre Freak I spent five years gaining great film and theatre expirience, started my own Production Company, shot my first independant short, staged a show at Thalian Hall (oldest Theatre in America) and now I am here to show off my skills. I am off to a pretty good start actually- I am Stage Managing a production of Hamlet that will open in Jan 2005- and run through Feb. 20th. I am the House Manager for The Redmoon Theatre-Redmoon.org- I am closing their production of Winter Pagent Sunday and the next production The Cabinet opens March 3rd and runs through May 8th at the Viaduct Theatre. Of Course I have a part time day job that I love that keeps me working with children, also something I love doing almost as much as theatre. So Life is good. My man is the Master Electrician at the NEXT Theatre in Evanston, and today actually he is interviewing for resident Tech Director at The Mercury Theatre.(None of you expected me to not end up with a Tech God did you?) He is also still actively seeking an agent, he has quite the acting resume. So thats about all I have to say at this moment. Happy 2005 to you and yours- may 2005 treat you as good as 2004 treated me and even better. More theatre freak info to follow I promise!-Mariangela
